Delivering her first taste of new music since her 2016 LP Saint Lo, Washington has today presented us with ‘Claws’, the first taste of her forthcoming album. The dark, yet uptempo, song has a tinge of 80’s flavour to it with a digitised beat backing loads of synths and some big vocals. Needless to say, it’s got us super keen for the as yet untitled album.
Directed by Washington herself along with Nick Waterman, the clip features the artist and a troupe of dancers performing well choreographed movements that embody a sexual intimacy without being overly ‘pushy’. “The video is an exercise in exploring how “sexy” doesn’t have to be overtly provocative,” Washington says.
Stay tuned for more new music from Washington, we are predicting 2019 is going o be one of her biggest years to date.
