With his plush purple exterior, Barney was always a little bit of a player – and hey, even Demi Lovato had a crush on everybody’s favourite dinosaur.
Now, our suspicions have been confirmed, with a new video emerging of Barney rapping East Coast classic ‘Big Poppa’ by Notorious B.I.G. Taken from Biggie’s immortal album Ready To Die, the track has managed to stay in club rotation for well over 20 years and has now entered the wonderful world of children’s television shows.
The video of Barney sees him rapping about smoking fragrant marijuana in a jacuzzi, sometimes wearing a bucket hat and sunglasses and generally being a deadset legend. It was created by Adam Schleichkorn, who said that “This song has been on my list for a long time, and I just feel like Barney as Biggie totally fits. Not only is this one of the best rap songs of all time, but it comes from the best rap album of all time, Ready to Die… Cover to cover greatness!”
Adam is also the man behind various muppet rap mash-ups including Warren G and recent Australian visitors Bone-Thugs-N-Harmony, but this one might just take the cake. Watch Barney get super fly below:
