Sad news for Lykke Li fans hits us this afternoon, as the Swedish pop goddess has announced that she will no longer be gracing Australia as part of Laneway Festival.

“I’m incredibly sorry to announce that I’m no longer able to play in Australia, New Zealand and Singapore for Laneway Festival. It’s been a long time coming, but unfortunately tour life has caught up with me and it’s been recommended that I take a break. I’m devastated, but know I will return. Thank you for all the support, and I sincerely hope I can make it up to you at a later date,” a statement fread.

In her place will be Adelaide emcee Tkay Maidza. We recently spent a day with the fast-rising emcee, and we can confirm that she absolutely slays it on the live stage. Having graced Listen Out and Falls Festival in 2014, she’s no stranger to the larger stages, and her year will be off to a flying start with the addition of these dates.

Laneway Festival still boasts the likes of Vic Mensa, Flying Lotus, Banks & many more. Check out the lineup here.
