Are you missing the surf right now?

Good news for the Sydneysiders who have been missing the crowded lineup of Australia’s most iconic beach – as of Tuesday Bondi will be reopening for you to get your froth on. The decision was reached at a Waverly Council meeting last night and will see a relaxing of the social distancing rules for Bondi, Bronte and Tamarama beaches.

As of Tuesday April 28th, the beaches will be opened from 7AM til 5PM from Mondays to Fridays for surfers and swimmers. Sunbaking is still not allowed, so don’t bother heading down to the sand with a towel and a book (unless you plan on surfing on that book). The number of people in the water will also be monitored with rangers gifted the power to shut the beach down if rules are disobeyed.

It’s a hectic decision considering Bondi was a bit of a hotspot for the disease a month back and a muscled up beachgoer was arrested there just a couple of days ago… Hopefully it doesn’t come back to bite the council on their (sunburnt) bums.
