In what has to be one of the most ambitious projects in recent memory, Burton team rider Nick Brown and filmmaker Heath Patterson gathered six of their mates and headed to rural Japan with one goal in mind: To build the ultimate snow park. Over the course of four weeks, the team completed daily five-hour round hikes from base camp, working tirelessly through all conditions to build, build and build.
Hidden Mountain documents their adventures and the result, a four-way intersecting igloo complete with jumps and trenches, where the team took full advantage of the Japanese snow to flex their snowboarding talents. This all took place back in February, but has been documented in beautiful, crisp footage for the film.
The world premiere is going down on Saturday, June 24 at The World Bar in Queenstown, New Zealand, supported by Burton and Corona – see the full details below, and be the first to watch Hidden Mountain in all of its glory.
