Surf filmmakers need to be celebrated – after all, they’re the ones who deliver the action straight from the ocean and into our eyeballs with crisp and awe-inspiring results.

The Reelers 2017 Awards Night is all about honouring exciting surf filmmakers from around the world and giving their short films a platform. Last night, the show kicked on for another year at Moonshine Bar in Manly, where the winners were treated to standing ovations and giant novelty cheques. Big grins all round, check it out:
