Social media is evolving so quickly that we, as humans, are still working out online etiquette.

However, there are some things which are unanimously accepted: We all know what a ‘poke’ on Facebook actually means, and unfollowing someone on Instagram is a monumental move which is pretty much the e-equivalent of declaring war. You’ve probably got people on your IG feed who post five pictures a day (none of which involve the good stuff like dogs) but you just don’t unfollow them, because that would be a little harsh, right?

Now, Instagram has solved all your problems with a new feature that let’s you mute those annoying Instagram users. The person in question won’t know that you’ve muted them, they’ll simply be removed from your feed. You can still visit their profile to see their posts if you wish, but there’ll be less clutter on your feed.

The feature will be rolling out in the next few weeks, so get those muting fingers ready.
