Never one to shy away from pushing boundaries, director Spike Lee’s new film, A BlacKkKlansman, just dropped its first trailer. Judging by the footage, the film looks just as incendiary as its title.
The film is based on the ludicrous true story of Ron Stallworth, an African-American detective who infiltrated one of the most hostile chapters of the Ku Klux Klan. The film looks like it has sliced together a variety of film genres, turning it into something uniquely Spike Lee.
The auteur’s last effort is already starting to garner a lot of buzz after its premiere at the Cannes Film Festival, with critics calling it Lee’s best film in years.
The film will be screening at this year’s Sydney Film Festival. Tickets can be found here but be quick, they’re selling out fast!
