Local artist Jack Irvine is back with his first solo show in four years, resurrecting his favourite characters and unmistakable aesthetic in a brazen show of colour in Surry Hills.

It’s been awhile, but Irvine (and his all-white outfit) will be taking over District 01 next Friday night in a show that promises “bats, rats, aliens and pop culture cartoon characters.” What more could you ask for? In the flyer below, we can already see one distorted version of Ronald McDonald which is making us keen for a quarter-pounder, but even more keen to attend this show!

Irvine is keen to show the artistic progress and evolutions he’s made over the past couple of years, and you see a preview of his show below as well as a short video insight into his chaotic brand of painting. All the action is kicking off on July 1 from 6:00pm, and if you can’t make it on the opening night, the works will also be on show from midday on July 2:
