The Coen Brothers have already claimed best screenplay at Venice Film Festival for the Netflix feature.

It’s no secret that the Joel and Ethan Coen no how to make a good western. Their adaptation of Cormac McCarthy’s No Country For Old Men and their reimagination of 1969 film (based on Charles Portis’ novel) True Grit collectively netting 18 Oscar nominations, with the brothers taking home three awards, is surely testament to that.

Now we have the trailer for their hugely anticipated return to the western genre, The Ballad Of Buster Scruggs. The film, which was originally supposed to be a six-part series, has already won them best screenplay in Venice earlier this month, and (atypically) follows six individual stories in a chapter anthology structure.

Big name actors in the film include O Brother, Where Art Thou? star Tim Blake Nelson as Buster scruggs, as well as Zoe Kazan, James Franco, Liam Neeson, and Tom Waits. Don’t know about you, but the idea of seeing Neeson and Waits on screen playing gritty cowboys is enough to have us sold on the film already.

The Ballad Of Buster Scruggs will be available on Netflix and in select cinemas November 16 cowboys and girls.
