Get out your one dollar bills (I mean coins) and get ready to have your world torn in two, as Magic Mike Live is all set to hit Sydney before the end of the year. Specifically, the show will be taking place at the Entertainment Quarter on December 17.
But that isn’t the only show they’re doing, the scantily-dressed supergroup gearing up for an insane 192 shows, with shows in Melbourne in June 2021 and other shows in Brisbane and Perth still to be announced.
For those not familiar with the Magic Mike live show (How?!), the show is basically a live version of the critically acclaimed films, described as a dance and acrobatic spectacular, as numerous semi-naked men turn various theatres and stages into real life strip clubs that seem to do so damn well with punters.
Speaking ahead of the announcement, show creator and director Channing Tatum said “The morning after we opened our first production in Vegas four years ago, we all talked about the crazy idea of someday putting Magic Mike Live in a tent and travelling around Australia.
“The fact that it’s actually happening now is mind-blowing to me… this new version of the show is more than I ever imagined it could be and I can’t wait for our fans in Australia to see what we’ve created especially for them.”
Sadly, Tatum will not be performing as part of the cast, but no doubt we can expect some properly entertaining dance numbers and acrobatics if he’s at the helm of the whole production. Be sure to suss ticket deets here and check the full trailer below.
