It's been a long time coming.

Earlier this week, it was reported that Reese Witherpoon was in talks to produce and star in a third Legally Blonde film.

In addition to reprising her role as Elle Woods, The Fix reported that “Witherspoon would also produce through her Hello Sunshine production company, if the deal goes through. Original producer Marc Platt and his Platt Productions president Adam Siegel are also producing.”

Now, we have confirmation that Legally Blonde 3 is very much happening. It was way back in 2001 that Legally Blonde hit the big screen to critical and commercial success, and earning a cult fanbase in the process. The sequel, Legally Blonde 2: Red, White & Blonde was released soon after in 2003, and it’ll be almost two decades until we see the third instalment – with MGM studio confirming that the it will release on February 14, 2020.

The news was broken to the world via this short video of Witherspoon drifting across a pool in a floatie. Looks comfortable. Watch below, and prepare for Legally Blonde 3 and many more quotables:

It’s true… #LegallyBlonde3
