Get ready to relive your childhoods…

In absolutely amazing news, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles are coming back for a new big screen adventure, with the animated movie being produced by Seth Rogen, Evan Goldberg and James Weaver. Jeff Rowe, who’s co-directing the upcoming animated movie Connected, will direct from a script by Neighbors screenwriter Brendan O’Brien.

In case you’ve somehow forgotten the premise of the beloved show, TMNT follows four teenage brothers (who are turtles, obviously) who fight crime using their ninja skills while getting up to hilarious shenanigans. And who can forget Master Splinter, their stoic teacher and adoptive father.

“Adding Seth, Evan and James’ genius to the humour and action that’s already an integral part of TMNT is going to make this a next-level reinvention of the property,” Brian Robbins, president of Kids & Family Entertainment at ViacomCBS said.

“I’m looking forward to see what they do, and I know that Ramsey Naito and her team are excited to take the Nick Animation Studio into another great direction with their first-ever CG-animated theatrical.”

No doubt we’re looking forward to it as well, and it’s clear that Seth Rogen and TMNT are a match made in heaven. I for one am hoping we get at least one iconic Rogan laugh in the movie, but I don’t want to get my hopes up. We’ll let you know the second we know more about the upcoming film. Check out a scene from the 2014 iteration of TMNT on the big screen to get an idea of what to expect…
