Don’t play with our hearts like this Weezy…

Just days after announcing a collab album with Mannie Fresh, Lil Wayne has seemingly teased new music, but this time on the solo side. In a new interview with Variety, when Weezy was asked which album was his favourite in the legendary The Carter series, Wayne got a bit cheeky, stating that “My favourite Carter album is the next one.”

This is delicious news, considering that the last Carter album dropped back in 2018 which feels like an eternity ago. Since then he’s followed it up with the critically acclaimed Funeral at the start of 2020, as well as making 2015’s Free Weezy Album available on Spotify just last week.

He’s also been getting into the media game, his Apple Music show Young Money Radio dominating the air waves with high profile guests such as 50 Cent, Nicki Minaj, Snoop Dogg & many more. Speaking on the show, Weezy confessed “It means a lot to have such a platform, but the unique fact of it is how meaningful it can be for others,” he said. “You never know who you’re reaching, so you reach for the stars and hope whoever you’re reaching can do the same.”

No doubt Weezy is a busy man, but with all the downtime caused by COVID-19, its totally possible that he has another Carter album in the works. Fingers crossed he blesses us with another instalment in the iconic series soon…
