The psych-blues shredlords are hitting the highway.

Having set stages around Sydney on fire with their Hendrix-flavoured mix of wailing guitars, howling vocals, and huge grooves, Sydney four-piece Velvet Trip have just announced they’ll be playing a run of East Coast shows this May/June. Hitting venues in and around Sydney, Brisbane, Gold Coast, Newcastle, and Melbourne, the group will be bringing jams from their forthcoming debut EP Velvet Trip & The Six Moon Skies.

With singles ‘Take Control Of Your Mind’, ‘Hurricane’, and ‘All My Life I Was 12 Ft Tall & Told My Tales Just The Same’ already accruing thousands of streams, the appetite for new Velvet Trip tunes seems to be growing by the day. And it’s looking like they’ll need to be living up to their reputation as masters of improvisation as frontman Zeppelin Hamilton explains:

“Well.. [bassist] Nick has quit his job, [drummer] Clay is on tour in Europe until literally a few days before our first show, I honestly have no idea where [keyboardist] Sinj is and I’ve been learning pop songs for a corporate makeup event. We are very excited and I don’t know what to expect either.”
