A few weeks ago, a viral article crowned The Chainsmokers as ‘The Nickleback Of EDM,’ and the duo clapped back by releasing their own DIY Nickleback remix.
Now, they’ve tapped another one of the world’s biggest rock bands, surprising the BRIT Awards with their new Coldplay collaboration ‘Something Just Like This.’ Having just received its live debut, the studio version is already picking up heavy traction online, and comes after short clips of the two parties working together surfaced last September.
With the unbelievable chart success of ‘Closer’ still roaring, it sounds like The Chainsmokers have a certain recipe for success, and the new single combines their usual pop-tinged synths with the emotive vocals of Chris Martin. The song is set to appear on The Chainsmokers’ forthcoming debut album.
