Combining trap and r&b elements as typified by artists like The Weeknd and Bryson Tiller, Carter is quick off the blocks with a similarly undeniable melodic appeal.

It’s not exactly what you’d expect to find if you were digging for underground Australian hip hop at the moment, but Carter is offering local audiences – as well as a foundation of fans in Shenzhen, China – another taste of what’s happening in hip hop globally.

Featuring a guest verse from JSPA, ‘100-60’ is all about “the process of the chase”, Carter says. Adding that the clip is, “intended to display joy and confidence while having all my closest people on set”. Aesthetically, the video checks a lot of boxes featuring a Gucci hat, Supreme puffer, vintage car and a smoke machine for good measure.
