Gives us an idea of what he was going through…

Now that the posthumous album Legends Never Die has dropped and Juice WRLD fans are beginning to see where he was at prior to his death, it’s definitely making for some emotional moments. Adding to that heavy load, the visual for ‘Wishing Well’ goes in deep on his mental state prior to his overdose, with the video portraying him as an animated character whose environment reflects his struggles with fame & drug use. The video makes use of emojis as well to signal his emotions as he navigates life, from talking to a psychiatrist, making phone calls for help and turning to substance use to cope with his demons.

The video & lyrics really communicate the dark place Juice was in prior to his death, as well as shows how he knew the lifestyle he was living was detrimental to his health. He scarily foreshadows the future while reflecting on his state of being toward the end of the song, rapping ‘Sometimes I don’t know how to feel/ Let’s be for real/ If it wasn’t for the pills, I wouldn’t be here/ But if I keep taking this pills I won’t be here, yeah’. It’s clear that Juice was struggling hard to fight his demons, and that ‘Wishing Well’ symbolised his desire to be rid of his struggles and free himself from the cycle of drugs and depression. He sadly passed away last December from a codeine and oxycodone overdose. He was 21 years old.
