Very serious stuff…

Las Vegas Aces star Liz Cambage has talked to Melbourne’s The Herald Sun about her recent health scare, believing she might have contracted Coronavirus whilst playing in China.

The Aussie star got so sick that she had to be hospitalised near Beijing where she was confined to a wheelchair. She was diagnosed with pneumonia, but Cambage always thought there was more to the illness.

“I actually was sick in hospital, and I honestly think I had corona,” Cambage said. “I was so weak, I couldn’t walk, I was in a wheelchair. I had pneumonia. I think I had it before it was a global thing.”

Cambage was in China playing for the Women’s Chinese Basketball Association’s Shanxi Flame when she became ill. Soon after Cambage travelled to Las Vegas in January to start the Ace’s season.

The Aces has released a statement assuring the public that Cambage is healthy and not contagious, saying “Cambage is currently not exhibiting any health issues, but out of an abundance of caution, will continue to consult with her doctors”.

Best wishes to Liz, sending good thoughts your way…
