I’m not sure what year it was, I guess Andrew was 15-16 or maybe 17. Anyway, I think he emailed me saying he wanted to show me some photos, usually I don’t reply to this sort of thing, but maybe his sad dopey demeanour got through my usually shitty exterior. Anyhow the next day this kid rocks up in a uniform straight from school with a sheet of transperinces (this is ye old days before digital).

Anyway, I think we ran two shots from the sheet, his girlfriend of the time and I actually don’t know what else. Since that fateful day I’ve watched the little fucker grow into one of the most well-respected Skate photographers in the whole wild world. Its an honour to call him a mate and a fellow creative.

It does still pain me he’s achieved all this shit and is still sub 30.
