Surprise.

Ryan Reynolds as Deadpool makes an unexpected appearance on the Stephen Colbert’s show.

The ever self-deprecating actor interrupted the Colbert as he joked about Hollywood’s unrelenting rolling out of superhero films, chiming in with Deadpool’s trademark blend of arrogance and humour. After a bit of back and forth between the two funny men, ‘Deadpool’ compares Reynolds to his most “most recent turd” to raucous laughter from the audience.

Not satisfied with just taking aim at himself, Reynolds then went on to read the rest of Colbert’s opening monologue which consisted of Trump jokes, but this time had a crudeness that could only have come from the Reynolds himself… or Deadpool (it’s getting kind of hard to tell the difference these days).

Time will tell whether Deadpool 2 can knock The Avengers: Infinity War off the box office top spot, though if it’s anywhere near as funny as the promo for it has been, it should get pretty close.
