We recently embarked on one of our regular YouTube trawls when we discovered Sports Illustrated recently uploading some throwback gold, consisting of outtakes of Kate Upton’s first shoot for the esteemed publication.

Six years ago, Upton hadn’t reached the astronomical heights she has today – it was the same year that SI handed her the Rookie Of The Year award, and also when her ‘Dougie’ video caused waves of fandom across the globe. This shoot in the Philippines could certainly be considered a standout moment, and a catalyst for her success thus far – so we decided to pay it a little revisit.

Hitting the sands and water of Boracay Island, Upton commented that “it took two boat rides to get there after the plane ride. It was so beautiful; I loved it.” Wearing an array of swimsuits (and in one image, starfish) it’s clear that Upton’s frst impressions on SI definitely lasted.
