Windows founder and philanthropist Bill Gates has pledged to donate $100 million to figure the Coronavirus epidemic, supporting public health bodies so they can find a vaccine as quick as possible.

This year marks the 20th anniversary of our foundation. Despite how much things have changed in that time, our belief that every person deserves the chance to live a healthy and productive life is still our most important driving principle. In our 2020 annual letter (link in bio), @melindafrenchgates and I reflect on the first two decades of our foundation and look forward to the next 20 years.

The donation is gonna be divided up in a couple ways, with the World Health Organization and US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention receiving $20 million.

The remainder of the donation is said to go toward health authorities in China and countries that have been significantly affected by the virus. It’s also expected to support the construction of hospitals and other infrastructure in Southern Asia and Africa, as well as mass produce home test kits.

Shoutout to Bill and Melinda, already having donated $10 million to fight the virus, amongst their countless other philanthropic efforts. We need more people like you guys in the world! Respect.
