Bespoke London streetwear brand clothsurgeon has teamed up with the US sportswear heavyweights to deliver a classic high-street-meets-high-end collection.

It’s the first time Australian consumers will have local access to the exclusive brand as the drop comes in the form of a sophisticated sportswear collection inspired by vintage 40s and 50s style, expertly tailored to incorporate trend-defining contemporary aesthetics. The houndstooth utility vest is a perfect example of that beautifully contrasting union and is a standout from the collection alongside the matching houndstooth coat, tailored straight hem track pants, and zip through corduroy jacket.

On the collaboration, clothsurgeon founder Rav Matharu, said, “I have an obsession with vintage sportswear so to work with Champion was a real exciting opportunity to do something new for the Champion brand in terms of silhouette and fabrication, whilst still keeping both brands’ DNA intact. Creating a true, authentic collaboration and a nod to an era where we took a great deal of inspiration from.” In saying that, it’s also a nod to the increasingly present trend of aspirational labels and fashion houses crossing traditional boundaries to explore the possibilities and raw functions of sportswear. Here’s hoping that high-fashion crossover into cosy and functional pieces continues. 

Released to international fanfare, the highly anticipated range will be available to Australian consumers from August 5th, online as well as via Champion’s flagship stores at Pacific Fair, Bondi (limited styles) and Chadstone.
