Quite simply, Nat Lanyon is living the dream, and deservedly so.

The 28-year-old photographer is based in Brisbane, and has been his own full-time CEO for the past five years, shooting the best in fashion and lifestyle. Who needs a 9-5 when you can decide your own hours? In between shooting, Nat spends his time sneaking down the coast or a playing a cheeky round of golf before editing late into the night.

With his camera having traveled the world for various high-profile clients, Nat has also had the pleasure of shooting some of the most beautiful women in the world. Here, he selects a few of his favourite shots, and boy are they breathtaking. He explains his work like this:

It’s pretty hard talking about your own work, but I think it finds a good balance between clean and raw. I try to keep my style a little adaptive so I’m capable of shooting for different labels and fulfilling clients’ briefs. But I love shooting girls very naturally if it’s my personal work. I really want to show their true beauty, and I think images as such are timeless. Hopefully I’ll have a body of work that I can look back on in a decade that reflects this.

This is close to my favourite shot of all-time, it’s of my friend Chelsea who I have shot with alot. We always manage to get images that blow my mind! This was actually about 10 minutes before we both got completely saturated from a heavy afternoon thunderstorm. This image was also a finalist shot in Monster Children’s ‘Girls’ section this year, which was cool.

This is an older shot, maybe 3 years old. It’s of Caroline Wilson, who is now killing it over in LA & deservedly so. I love the feeling of this shot & the silly texture of the sand.

This is a really special image too me – This is my friend Sam, we had to walk in a few hours to this place. It’s pretty remote, but so worth it!

This is from one of my campaigns for swim label ‘She Made Me’ shot in Indonesia, Anne-Sofie is Dutch & she is one of the most talented models I have had the pleasure of shooting. She was enjoying the water shots, because damn it was hot over there!

This is a shot from another ‘She Made Me’ campaign, featuring Gigi. I think Gigi has the most beautiful eyes, that’s what I love about this shot – Her eyes really capture you.

This is a campaign shot for Faithfull the Brand, shot in Indonesia. I love the late afternoon light, it’s not too strong but just enough to create that warmth.

I flew to Sydney late last year to shoot a campaign for a South Australian boutique. This is Zoe Cross, a damn fun lady to work with, always bursting with ideas & energy.

This is Shannikah, I shot this at my place in Brisbane with a little makeshift studio last year. I’m shooting with Shannikah again soon actually & really pumped about it, she is such a legend.
