Aaron Carter has shed some light on the complexities of his sexuality in an emotional Twitter post.
The teen pop sensation, now 29, has revealed that he is both attracted to men and women. Understanding that the nuances of sexuality live on a spectrum, Carter has said that he feels no shame about the confession, however he wanted the “weight and burden” of hiding his sexuality lifted off him.
The star, who is currently in a relationship with actress Madison Parker, revealed that he started to f”ind boys and girls attractive” as a teen, and had “an experience with a male” who he “worked with and grew up with.” It’s worth noting that Carter has not explicitly labelled himself as gay or bisexual, and we should be mindful not to do the same.
He concludes the note with a heartfelt quote from Boy George, ” I never felt as though I didn’t belong, I just acted as though I did.” Take a look at the full note below.
