Alina Oswald is the photographer behind Moments, an ongoing black-and-white series which captures young Munich residents during their orgasm. It started when she photographed her friend during the Big O, before word spread to friends and even co-workers – many of whom wanted to partake in the project, presumably because everyone’s always wondered what sort of eye-popping expressions they pull during their impassioned moment.
Oswald visits the homes of her subjects with her camera and often a bottle of wine, and the process from there differs on a case-by-case basis. According to this interview with Creators, sometimes Oswald leaves the room and other times she stays, while some subjects invite their partners to the session. “After, we laughed and talked about the moment, happy and thankful for the experience,” she says.
“It’s not just about eroticism, its about how we confront ourselves with sexuality, how we deal with the topic in society. I want to make clear that sexuality is not just in our body. There is more than the porn industry shows,” she continues. While Oswald says she is committed to keeping the Moments series going, you can see some of her images so far below.
