Australian hip-hop seems healthier and more sonically diverse than ever before, so it’s no surprise that organisers of Sprung Festival have decided to resurrect it in 2017.

First hosted in 2011, Sprung has taken hiatus over the past few years, but will return to Parkwood Precinct on the Gold Coast come Saturday, October 28. “We have been waiting for the right time to bring Sprung back to the people,” organisers said. “We are now seeing artists that were once on at midday on our stages taking to the headline spots and a whole new wave of incredible artists that we can’t wait to showcase. We think 2017 is going to be an incredible year for Sprung and hip-hop as a whole.”

They’ve kept to their word, because the line-up includes a stack of seasoned favourites (Illy, Allday) and emerging talents (Midas.Gold, Travy P) – while we’re stoked to see Sydney talents like B Wise and Spit Syndicate heading up north for the event. Tkay Maidza will perform fresh off her national run with RL Grime, while A.B Original will follow up from their crucial set at Splendour In The Grass.

Tickets go on sale from Thursday, August 24 – cop yours right here, and bask in talent from across the country performing in the Sunshine State:
