Last year, Tame Impala were thrust onto an unlikely global stage when Rihanna covered their song ‘New Person, Same Old Mistakes’ on her brilliant ANTI album.

Still, with the likes of Tyler, The Creator constantly singing praises for the Perth band and Kevin Parker working alongside Mark Ronson and SZA, it seems like Tame Impala’s woozy soundscapes have won favour with the hip-hop community. Speaking on Tame Impala in 2013, ASAP Rocky told FasterLouder that he “wants to work with them.” Now, it looks like the charismatic Harlem rapper’s wishes have come true, according to a short video posted to his Snapchat.

Taking to the App to preview some new material, one of Flacko’s videos featured a new song playing in the background, while the footage zoomed in on a computer screen with text indicating that the song was called ‘Pretty Guy’ and indeed, produced by Tame Impala. While the video has disappeared as per Snapchat rules, it was of course captured, saved and posted to Twitter:

While the video only goes for 9 seconds, we’re sure that it’s enough to have fans from both camps frothing for the studio version to be released in full. And just like that, it looks like there’s another huge accolade for one of Perth’s greatest exports. Stay tuned for the supposed ASAP Rocky & Tame Impala collaboration to drop – it’s sounding like a big one.
