Super Cruel have had a big year. That’s also a big understatement. Their debut single ‘November’ has clocked over 1.5 million streams on Spotify, while they also crafted an official remix for Major Lazer’s star-studded ‘Know No Better.’ They wowed audiences on the Mix-Up Stage at Splendour In The Grass, and are gearing up for another sizeable festival appearance at Spilt Milk, later this month in the nation’s capital.
Now, the duo – comprised of Tigerilla and Jesse Porsches – have a new video for your eyeballs this Friday morning. ‘Sicklaced’ features Sydney vocalist CXLOE, who recently topped the Spotify viral charts with her own solo effort ‘Tough Love.’ Here, her effortlessly smooth vocals team with Super Cruel’s sweeping synths, making ‘Sicklaced’ a pensive banger that’s almost begging to be played on big-scale festival stages.
The video comes courtesy of Jáen Collective, who have recently added their cinematic touches to clips for Manu Crooks and B Wise. The ‘Sicklaced’ video features Cartia Mallan, Josh Heuston and friends running through abandoned buildings, break-dancing in carparks and making out passionately in a deserted field, which also happen to be three of our favourite activities.

“It feels like we went to hell and back working to make this one come together. Super excited to see it finally come to life,” Porsches says, while Tigerilla adds that “‘Sicklaced’ is the newest installation on the Super Cruel journey, so strap in and enjoy.”
“Working on ‘Sicklaced’ was a really rewarding process as we all worked so hard to make this song come together. Individually we have our own unique sound, and this track blends all our influences together to create magic,” collaborator CXLOE says.
Watch ‘Sicklaced’ first below, and make sure you catch Super Cruel at Spilt Milk in a few week’s time. It’s sold out, so now might be the time to be calling in some favours:
