They’re in the country in support of their 9th album Concrete and Gold, which is also their 7th full-length to hit the Number. 1 spot in Australia – so it’s fair to say that we have a chronic case of Foo Fighters fever. Now, the rock mega-stars have teamed up with local beer extraordinaries Young Henrys for their own beverage.
‘Foo Town Lager’ is the brilliant fusion between the two, and it’s being served ice cold at two Australian locations. Foo Fighters Hotel will open its doors in Sydney this afternoon from 4:00pm and run through the long weekend, while Melbourne will follow closely behind with its own Fooie Bar from Saturday. There, fans will be able to taste the new beer alongside Foo themed cover bands, trivia, barbeque and limited edition merchandise.
Young Henry’s co-founder Oscar McMahon is understandably stoked. “Getting a call to say the Foo Fighters want to brew a beer with Young Henrys was huge for us. We’re also stoked for our mates DZ Deathrays, who are joining them on tour again. It’s thanks to working with local legends like them that we’ve got the opportunity to brew a beer with one of the world’s best known rock bands,” he says.
