Summer Bright Lager’s Summer Sessions tour is about to wrap up, and while we’ve got our sad faces on, we’re stoked that Bugs will be joining the final show with Alex Lahey & The Belligerents on the Sunshine Coast.

The Brisbane boys have been wowing crowds (including Falls Festival at the start of this year) with their modest and instantly relatable brand of guitar pop, telling everyday narratives that shimmer with Australian suburban charm. With a new single ‘Glue’ dropping next Friday, things are only picking up for Bugs – and ahead of this Sunday’s soiree, we caught up with the long-haired studs to chat about QLD rugby league legends, what it means to be Australian, and what to expect when they’re onstage:
