Favoured by everyone from Kurt Cobain to Tyler, The Creator, Converse’s immortal One Star has stood the test of time. While the Chuck Taylor might be Converse’s most omnipresent shoe, the One Star has earned a cult following and worked its way into many subcultural uniforms over the decades – from Japanese sneaker addicts in the 1980s to the grunge takeover throughout the next decade. Most recently, the One Star has been bolstered by high-profile collaborations with ASAP Nast, Golf Le Fleur, CLOT and more.
We were lucky enough to team up with Converse to shoot their latest One Star campaign, which sees the iconic silhouette stamped with a star on the upper, against a backdrop of pastels and neutral shades. Modelling the One Star was a group of upcoming Sydneysiders – Tara Chandra, Denilson Lay, Lauren Gartlacher and Elijah Innes – working under the Converse X banner, united by their quest to do creative and inspiring things everyday. All of them put their own unique twist on the sneaker to show its versatility on foot.
See it all above, and expect to see these images hitting billboards across the city soon. You can also shop all your Converse needs right here:
