If you were looking at getting a late ticket to Compton megastar Kendrick Lamar’s DAMN tour, you might be a little out of pocket. Resellers are already flogging tickets from anywhere between a couple hundred to upwards of $1000.
Despite tickets only dropping yesterday, sites such as Viagogo, The Ticket Merchant, and Gumtree have already started listing tickets to be scalped at largely inflated prices. The most expensive price for a ticket we saw to his 1st Sydney Show was a whopping $1404.
This is just another case in a long list of events that have been tarnished for punters due to rampant ticket scalping. The NSW Government intends to target this problem with amendments to the Fair Trading Act of 1987, which should start to take effect later this year.
After nearly exhausting out all dates across his four city tour, Kung Fu Kenny tickets were bound to be in high demand. Coming off the success of both his critically lauded album DAMN and his contributions to The Black Panther soundtrack (to date the biggest movie of 2018), Lamar has made himself apart of the fabric of pop culture. His success and significance has been so remarkable he even recently won a Pulitzer Prize award.
