Swapping microphones for quills and ink, surviving members of iconic hip-hop trio The Beasties Boys have announced that the long overdue book about the group will be out this October. AD-Rock and Mike D will be delving into the groups rich history and covering their unlikely transition from hardcore punk outfit to hip-hop superstars.
Contributors include Amy Poehler, Colson Whitehead, Spike Jonze and Wes Anderson, all of which we imagine will have some pretty hot takes on the the group whose tongue-in-cheek New York style has delivered classic albums such as Paul’s Boutique and Hello Nasty.
I’m not sure if you remember, but a while ago we said we were gonna write a book about our band. Well, it’s almost done and it’s coming out soon. This is what it’s gonna look like. Kinda nice, right?

With a career that has spanned over three decades, we can expect the book to include the insider story of the trio’s explosion after License To Ill, their collaborations with Rick Rubin and Russell Simmons, to their status as global hitmakers and political activists.
