First earning his chops as an acoustic artist, Amastro was on a plane to Your Paradise festival when he happened to be sitting next to the one and only Alison Wonderland. After she showed him a few tricks on Ableton, Amastro was inspired to shift his focus to electronic music, and since that chance encounter two years ago, he’s played at Splendour in the Grass, Groovin The Moo and Party In The Paddock as well as embarking on his own national tours.
And while he’s now no stranger to playing festival stages, it was an extra-curricular experience at Lost Paradise that led to his latest single ‘Inhibition,’ which has already earned a few spins on triple j. According to Amastro, the dreamy single was inspired by a yoga session offered at the event; “I’ve always been a spiritual person, encountering variations and interpretations of ‘God’… But nothing so far has compared to meditating in that beautiful forest.”
The accompanying clip sees Amastro get in touch with nature as he delves into a forest filled with plush bananas and Whoopee cushions, bringing his older indie influences into a peaceful electronic backdrop. Watch ‘Inhibition’ below, and stay tuned for Amastro’s upcoming seven-track EP to be released sometime in 2018:
