It’s just a few more weeks until we head up the coast for our annual trek to Splendour in the Grass, but one international act has just announced that they will no longer be appearing at the Byron Bay mega-event.

Canadian electronic duo Chromeo have announced that they will no longer be appearing at the festival and headline shows due to “the rigors of our touring schedule.” A statement from the group read:

To our funkateers & chromettes in Australia,

We are truly sorry to announce that our upcoming July shows in Sydney, Melbourne and Splendour In The Grass have been cancelled. It’s been so long since we’ve visited you last and we were so excited to play for you. Unfortunately, the rigors of our touring schedule have caught up with us and we need to prioritize our health and wellbeing. We’re being told that this period would be best served as a time to rest. This was not an easy call to make. We hope you understand. Please know that we’re doing everything we can to reschedule our time in Australia. We will see you all soon.

Lots of love,
Dave and Pee

Chromeo will be replaced by Australian dance legends The Presets, who are still buzzing from their album HI-VIZ. With over a decade in delivering heaters across Australian clubs and festivals, we have no doubt that The Presets will be well received at North Byron Parklands. They’ll be joining Kendrick Lamar, Lil Xan, Lorde, Vampire Weekend, Khalid and many more. See you there!
