King Street Crawl 2018 is on this Sunday, so here some (more) artists out of the 150+ that should be on your radar
As we mentioned in last weeks list, there’s so much good music happening at King Street Crawl, over so many stages, you might need a hand navigating it all. Swinging in and out of venues when you’re a little tipsy is heaps of fun, but without planning ahead you may miss out on your favourite bands/performers.
Organisers have also just released a mobile-friendly program guide too which will no doubt be more reliable than your half-pissed mate who swears band ‘X’ is playing at venue ‘Y’ at whatever time. Just give him/her a sobering slap (of information) from the guide and you’ll be on your merry way.

The Straight Arrows @ Pretty much everywhere
Playing four shows on one King St Crawl? Not an issue for Sydney’s garage stalwarts Straight Arrows. The band will also be releasing a brand new tune ‘21st Century’ on Friday so you can expect to hear that as well, in fact, you can hear it at The Bank (1pm), The Botany View (3pm), Kellys (6pm) and The Sly Fox (8pm).

Triple One @ The Botany View
Capable of rivalling any NRL team with the amount of sweat and beer they can soak a venue in, Triple One’s live shows are notoriously packed, rowdy and wildly fun. You’d best get in early on Sunday if you want to catch them though, as the last time they played at BVH you could barely move – event here.

Andy Golledge @ The Union
You should really be jumping at any opportunity you get to see one of Newtown’s most recognisable faces and voices, Andy Golledge. Live shows are known to take on more of a hoedown vibe with sing-alongs, dancing and great tunes, as the intoxicating performer and his eclectic band morph into a unified party machine – event here.

Cosmic Flanders @ Hideaway Bar
Looking for a bit of psych rock on your crawl? Wander down Enmore Road to Hideaway Bar to catch the trippy tunes of Cosmic Flanders. The Inner-West four piece arent afraid to get a little weird and throw a wall of psychedelic sounds in your face (in the friendliest way) – event here.
Baby Beef @ The Union
Not only have alt-pop trio Baby Beef provided one of our favourite tracks of 2018, they’ve also delivered one of the most interesting, yet simple videos we’ve ever seen. If their live show is anywhere near as good as their music and videos, you’d be a foolishly stupid, dumb idiot if you missed them early on in the piece at The Union for his years Crawl – event here.

SCABZ @ Kelly’s
Rightfully headlining their very own stage, repeat-crawlers SCABZ will be bringing some unrelenting punk to the party. If you’re still standing by the time they take the stage, prepare to be floored by the time they are finished with you – event here.

James Thomson @ Midnight Special
We couldn’t think of a better venue to house Novocastrian blues/country-man James Thomson. Washing his infectious, shuffling ballads down with a tasty whiskey at Midnight Special will make you feel like you’ve stumbled into a smokey bar in Nashville sometime during the late 70’s – event here.
Emerson Snowe @ Newtown Hotel
Having just returned from playing a run of shows in the UK, Brisbane based indie-pop artist has been garnering a lot of attention at home and abroad. His unique spin on modern love and life wrapped up with a melancholy bow, is worthy of your time at this years crawl – event here.

Rosa Maria @ The Sly Fox
Ok you freakbeaters, psych-lovers and hippies, make sure you catch masters of 60’s garage Rosa Maria on Sunday. Possibly the most energetic and exciting live bands on this years roster, the Sydney five-piece have also just dropped brand new tune that will have you howling (tehe) for more. A must see – event here.
Body Type @ The Bank
Get in there and see Body Type in a small room, for free while you have the opportunity. It’s no secret that the four-piece are touted as the next big thing to come out of Sydney, with their slacker-styled, indie-pop tunes capable of making you think and dance at the same time – event here.
