triple j hosts are taking their love of music off the airwaves, teaming up with the ABC to launch a new show called The Set.
The weekly show will hit television screens in November to coincide with ABC’s Ausmusic Month, hosted by triple j regulars Dylan Alcott and Linda Marigliano. Each episode will be filmed in front of a 250 person studio audience, with live performances from homegrown staples like The Presets, Angus & Julia Stone, Vera Blue and Ball Park Music. Most excitingly, each headline act will also choose two guests to join them onscreen, and according to the ABC, that will make for “some unforgettable one-off link ups and performances.”
“We’ve been keeping The Set a secret for a while now and are pumped to finally share this news with you,” say Alcott and Marigliano say about the show. “A new live music TV show is going to be a great thing for Australian music, and hosting it together is a bloody dream come true.”
The first episode of The Set launches on Wednesday, October 31 at 9:30pm and replay on Saturday, November 3 at 10:00pm. You can catch it on the ABC every Wednesday and Saturday thereafter, so tune in then for some local talents on tele. Hopefully there’s some more banter like this:
