The Buoys deliver some addictive garage-rock to help get you through your Tuesday.
Fresh off the back of a huge East Coast tour with Peter Bibby, Sydney outfit The Buoys really seem to be hitting their stride at the moment. Their swelling reputation as one of the best up and coming local acts has been well earned, with their super catchy mix of fuzzy guitars, heavy drumming and hooky vocals setting stages alight all around town.
Now they present us with their debut clip for single ‘Make It Clear’, a song that is about the frustration not knowing what is waiting around the corner for you. “‘Make It Clear’ is about being uncertain of the future and wanting a sneak peak so you can figure your shit out,” singer/guitarist Zoe Cat says.
Directed by Peter Fitzgibbon, the clip further explores uncertainty and the parallels it shares with traditional Cantonese dining (duh). “The clip was inspired by yum cha. We really wanted a camera on a lazy susan and the constant movement and spinning pretty accurately sums up the feeling of not knowing what’s around the corner in life,” Zoe says. “We tried to show this by always having something new pop up every time the camera went around, we’re changing clothes, instruments come and go and food keeps piling up.”
