If you’ve flicked through the pages of The Dirt, then you’ll know that its basically a fleshed out version of the Sex & Drugs & Rock & Roll mantra, taking us through the many tales of downright debauchery that engulfed Mötley Crüe’s career. Now, the film will be hitting Netflix on March 22, 2019 – as confirmed by singer Vince Neil: “Wow!!! Just left Netflix offices. Just saw The Dirt movie!! Fuckin’ awesome!! Can’t wait for everyone to see it! Released March 22!! Yea,” he wrote on Twitter.
And while Twitter might not be the most official source of information, the release date has been confirmed by a Netflix representative. The film stars Machine Gun Kelly playing Tommy Lee, while director Jeff Tremaine signed onto the film back in 2013. On what to expect from the film, Lee said back in 2015 that “Jeff Tremaine’s vision is to… make it as real as possible. He’s really detail-oriented. He’s like, it’s going to be down to the cars you see on the street, the telephones from the Eighties, the lights. The outfits. You’re going to feel like you’re in that time period, and he wanted a lot of stuff. There will be a lot of P.O.V. stuff where you’ll be in Vince’s head, in Nikki’s head while it was going down.”
It’s sounding huge – mark March 22 in your diaries.
