Jessica Jade is getting Christmas started early, gifting us a new track in ‘Detox.’

At just 19 years old, the South-West Sydney R&B star has already accumulated millions of views online, posting bedroom covers of her favourite tracks. Last year, she dropped her defiant bop ‘I’m Good’ and now comes another original single called ‘Detox.’ This time, Jade links up with some international heavyweights for the jam: The song was co-written by Shinique Owens (Chris Brown) and Howard Eversley (Nicki Minaj), while Grammy-nominated producer Lee Major (Rick Ross, Jay-Z, DJ Khaled) provided the beat for ‘Detox.’

With such a formidable team behind the track, it’s no surprise that ‘Detox’ brings out the best in Jade, who shows her impressive vocal range and intimate songwriting over slow-burning, smooth production. “Love makes you blind. It
makes you do things you wouldn’t normally do. In a way, love interrupts your life,” Jade says of the track’s lyrical focus. “Sometimes it does so in a good way but other times in a bad way. If it interrupts in a bad way then you need to ‘detox’ that person’s presence out of your life.”
