The Australian musician has teamed up with Larry ‘Ratso’ Sloman on the new track.

You might not of heard have Larry ‘Ratso’ Sloman, but you will have definitely heard of some of his work. The 70-year-old writer, who has just released his debut track ‘Our Lady Of Light’, is probably best known for penning Anthony Kiedis of Red Hot Chili Peppers’ biography, Scar Tissue, as well as writing lyrics for John Cale.

Enlisting help from friends like Nick Cave, Warren Ellis, Sharon Robinson, Yasmine Hamdan, and Imani Coppola to contribute to his debut record Stubborn Heart, which as stated in Rolling Stone, is a collection of tunes he’s been holding onto for some time. “Everything about this project was fun,” Sloman says. “And it was always about the songs. They had been lying dormant since 1984. They deserved a life.”

The first taste of the record is ‘Our Lady Of Light’, in which you can hear Cave and Ratso playing off each other nicely on  the hearstrung, yet uplifting ballad, that is reminiscent of 80’s Leonard Cohen. Stubborn Heart will be available for your listening pleasure April 4th.
