Charged up like he's Broly.

Following on from the release of his debut album Sin earlier this year, Filipino-born-Melbourne-based rapper Sin Santos is back with another banger.

Rather than a sequel however, ‘Drop’ is a statement of intent as Sin Santos navigates eerie and dark production to deliver a devastating melee of bars illustrating his desire to prove himself and keep getting tracks out. A trait that is further compounded as he recalls the quick turnaround from first hearing the beat to smashing out the song: “So the bro LKH – an up and coming Melbourne based producer – would send out beat packs to artists he found through Instagram. I went through the beats and as soon as heard this one, I hit him back straight away and told him I wanted it. I did the hook for it the same day and put it up on my Instagram story. Long story short, I got a good response and recorded it a week after!”

That tenacity and determination is reflected throughout the track as Sin Santos raps about work rate and flexes his lyrical dexterity while also working in a Dragon Ball Z reference. With plenty of more movement in the works, ‘Drop’ serves as a taste of what’s to come. Get familiar with the new track below and, if you’re in Melbourne this weekend, be sure to catch Sin Santos live in support of label mate Boy Graduate at The Gasometer tomorrow night.
