Psychedelic rock heavyweight Tame Impala AKA Kevin Parker has dropped the third single ‘Posthumous Forgiveness’ off his upcoming fourth studio album The Slow Rush today, which is slated for release in February next year.

Being one of Australia’s biggest exports, the singer/songwriter/producer has taken the world by storm over the past couple years, producing for artists like Travis Scott and Kali Uchis, as well as homegrown heroes and frequent collaborators Pond.

Following on from releases ‘Borderline’ and ‘It Might Be Time’, ‘Posthumous Forgiveness’ sees Parker slow it down a bit with sticky guitar riffs, tender vocals and a steady beat. Lyrically the tracks focuses on the complicated relationship with his deceased father prior to his death, and with lyrics like ‘but you decided to take all your sorry’s to the grave’, its almost impossible not to shed a tear or two.

The six minute track features a synth bashing bridge that essentially divides it into two parts, with the second part having Tame continuing the same themes about his father over a different beat featuring warbly synths and quicker drums.

It’s a cracking track, showcasing Parker’s ability to balance honest song writing with his signature production, and we’ll be waiting patiently for the release of The Slow Rush in February next year.
