If you’ve been craving some head banging ridiculousness that’ll absolutely send you into Nirvana, look no further. WAWAWOW is a psychedelic rock fan’s dream, with boundless energy, piercing guitar lines and eclectic song writing that’ll catch you hook, line and sinker. Their new song ‘The Big Cookoff’, which is out today, is the lead single of their forthcoming debut album ‘Pink Elephant’, and features all of the above. It also has some kick ass vocals that you just know are gonna destroy punters vocal chords in sweaty mosh pits.
Imagine King Gizz and the Murlocs, with a bit of Pond seasoning to tie it all together. Just overflowing with beautiful golden rowdiness. The Sydney four-piece sums their sound up perfectly ‘We always take it as a more-is-more approach with the music. As long as its paced nicely, we like to see how ridiculous it can get’. The new track is a prime example of this, managing to strike a balance between being absolutely mental and ridiculously precise.
Recruiting legends Dane Burge and Streaky (Groove Amanda, Skepta) for the recording and mastering process, the result is incredible to say the least. There’s no doubt the four piece are definitely ones to watch in 2020.
You reckon they’re wild enough for you? If so, they’re be playing some very special shows across Sydney over the next couple weeks, check out where you can catch them below.
