The man is a machine…

Hip Hop superstar Drake got busy on Friday night at the Toronto Raptors and Phoenix Suns game in typical Drake style.

Along with some courtside commentary from Drizzy himself, he also commented on the follow up to 2018’s Scorpion, saying “I’ve been tucked away trying to finish an album”. His last album, whose 25 track listing brought us hits like ‘In My Feelings’, ‘Emotionless’ and ‘Nice For What’, was an absolute smash when it first dropped.

But it looks like Toronto’s favourite son won’t be giving us as many songs this time around, saying “So last album, I went high volume. I did two sides, 20-something songs, which is a lot of songs. This album, I’ll probably make it a more realistic offering, something more concise”. He went on to say “Anywhere, whatever you want, it can be 10, 11, 16. I also do a lot of different types of music so it’s tough to make it like a seven-song album or something like that”.

When talking about Scorpion’s huge track list he paid respect to Biggie’s Life After Death album and the effect it had on him, saying “My last album was high volume. I had to sorta like… Notorious B.I.G. put this album out, and the ratio of songs versus just important songs was so incredible that I wanted to set a challenge for myself, you know?”

Regardless, we’re just keen for new music, and we’ll be the first to let you know if Champagne Papi decides to grace our ears with new offerings any time soon.
