Our favourite British crime drama is coming back…
After much speculation and many Instagram comments, Netflix has officially announced British crime drama Top Boy is returning for its second season and we’re absolutely stoked.
After UK publication GRM Daily made an Instagram post last year about Top Boy being one of the highest performing shows on Netflix in 2019, they captioned it “Will we see a new series next year”, and executive producer on the show Champagnepapi himself commented “Of course” and fans have been going wild ever since.
Now GRM daily has officially announced the shows second season with a second Insta post, and it’s safe to say fans are delighted.
Drake helped revive the show and bring it to Netflix after its last season on 2013 on Channel 4.
Star of the show Ashley Walters explained how Drizzy helped get the show running, saying “I think Drake helped to shine that light on it. First and foremost he is a big fan, he was like “When’s the next season?” and we had to tell him there isn’t one. At that point it just became about how we could get it back out there. He did all the legwork”.
We’re super keen for the new season to drop, and shoutout to Drizzy for being a total G.
