So much promise so early on…

It’s fair to say when Nirvana leader Kurt Cobain died, the world of rock and punk was pretty lost as to what came next. Luckily, Nirvana drummer Dave Grohl had been working on solo music whilst playing in the iconic band, even showing Kurt a couple songs before his passing. Recording these tracks after Kurts death, the songs Dave had been slaving away on were to become the basis for Foo Fighters, one of the most influential rock bands of all time. For most bands that were coming up around then, we’ve had to imagine what their first shows were like, or take the artists word for it. Luckily for us, footage surfaced online yesterday of the bands’ fourth ever show at the Velvet Elvis Arts Lounge in Seattle, 25 years since they played the iconic room.

The vid sees the young rock outfit performing songs like ‘Butterflies’, ‘Floaty’ and ‘Exhausted’, and the band shows insane promise for what was only their fourth show together. They fully approve of this vid being out on the internet btw, sharing it on their own Twitter as well.

With the guys celebrating their 25th anniversary of becoming a band, this footage being released now couldn’t be more perfect timing. It’s just so sick to see the band still kicking and selling out arenas all these years later, here’s hoping they bless us with many more years of incredible rock tunes and insane live performances…
