Federer out here…

After signing an incredible sponsorship deal worth between $300 million USD and $410 million USD with UNIQLO two years ago, tennis star Roger Federer has been clashing with Nike over his initials ever since. To break it down for you, ol’ mate Rog has been signed to Nike for the majority of his tennis career, and over that time the sportswear giant had come to possess the rights to the coveted ‘RF’ initials, and hadn’t released them back to him since. Until now.

Speaking on the whole dispute at a Wimbledon press conference in 2018, Roger said “It’s also something that was very important for me, for the fans really. Look, it’s the process. But the good news is that it will come with me at one point. They are my initials. They are mine. The good thing is it’s not theirs forever.”

Couldn’t be more true, as the logo has finally been authorised to be used by Federer and UNIQLO. And as seen by his Insta, it seem’s Federer is always fitted with UNIQLO threads, so no doubt we’re gonna see Roger rocking some ‘RF’ shirts out on the court real soon..
